Pakistan all-rounder Arafat Minhas has credited his positive mindset and consistent hard work for his impressive performances, saying maintaining discipline and a regular training routine is essential regardless of results or format.

Speaking on the programme Straight Drive with Salman Butt, Minhas said being named Player of the Series in the tri-nation ODI series had boosted his confidence.

“My priority is to deliver my best performance for Pakistan in every match,” Minhas said.

Reflecting on the final, Minhas said his focus after Pakistan lost early wickets was to build a partnership with Hasan Nawaz and take the match into the final overs.

He added that both batters understood each other’s strengths well, which helped them establish a crucial partnership.

Minhas said batting became easier after the ball was changed, while one big over shifted the momentum in Pakistan’s favour.

He also highlighted the importance of staying composed under pressure and making the right decisions, adding that playing in front of a large crowd provided extra motivation.

The all-rounder emphasised that mental preparation was crucial to succeeding across different formats. He said his approach to hard work and discipline remained the same regardless of the format.

Minhas enjoyed an impressive tri-nation ODI series, scoring 149 runs and taking nine wickets in five matches to earn the Player of the Series award.

He played a decisive role in the final, scoring 61 off just 31 balls. Minhas and Hasan Nawaz also shared a vital 94-run partnership for the sixth wicket, helping Pakistan recover after an early collapse.
