Pakistan T20I captain Sahibzada Farhan has backed the national team’s young players to embrace modern-day cricket, while stressing the importance of not underestimating Sri Lanka ahead of the three-match T20I series.

Speaking at a press conference, Farhan said the new-look Pakistan side is committed to playing fearless and positive cricket. He expressed confidence in the youngsters and said he would provide them with his full backing as they take on the challenge at international level.

Farhan also acknowledged the pressure that comes with captaincy, saying a captain has to take on responsibilities beyond those of the other 10 players in the team.

The Pakistan skipper also addressed the future of senior batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. He described both as among the world’s best T20 batters and said they have the ability to make a comeback at any time.

Farhan confirmed that he is expected to open the innings alongside experienced left-hander Fakhar Zaman, adding that the pair will look to provide Pakistan with a strong start.

While confident about his team’s approach, Farhan warned against complacency, insisting that Sri Lanka cannot be taken lightly. Pakistan will aim to make the most of its youthful squad while maintaining a fearless approach throughout the series.
