PHF seeks neutral venue for 2026 Asian Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has formally requested the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to shift the 2026 Men’s Asian Champions Trophy, or Pakistan’s matches in the tournament, to a neutral venue.

According to the PHF, the request has been made in view of the current sensitive bilateral situation between Pakistan and India. The federation said the move is aimed at ensuring a safe, dignified and conducive environment for Pakistani players and officials.

The PHF has made it clear that Pakistan remains fully committed to participating in the Asian Champions Trophy and continuing its involvement in international hockey.

The federation also stressed that Pakistan is ready to play against all International Hockey Federation (FIH) member nations, including India, but believes that a neutral venue would provide suitable conditions for the team and officials amid the existing circumstances.

The PHF has expressed hope that the Asian Hockey Federation will positively consider its proposal and facilitate Pakistan’s full participation in the tournament.

The request now awaits consideration from the Asian Hockey Federation, with the venue arrangements for Pakistan’s participation potentially becoming a key issue ahead of the 2026 competition.
