Pakistan’s Tayiba Ashraf, Sumbal Fatima win four medals at Hero International Taekwondo Open

PATTAYA: Pakistan’s taekwondo contingent produced an impressive performance at the 9th Hero International Taekwondo Open Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, bringing home four medals against a strong international field featuring athletes from more than 30 countries.

Tayiba Ashraf enjoyed a successful campaign by securing a bronze medal in the women’s 53kg fighting category before adding a silver medal in the Speed Kicking event, underlining her all-round ability across different disciplines.

Sumbal Fatima emerged as one of Pakistan’s standout performers, claiming the gold medal in the Individual Recognized Poomsae category with a polished display. She further strengthened her medal haul by winning silver in the Speed Punch event.

The championship featured elite competitors from countries including Thailand, Indonesia, India, the United States, Italy and Japan, making Pakistan’s achievements particularly noteworthy.
