The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a hefty fine of PKR 2 crore on Naseem Shah after finding him guilty of violating multiple clauses of his Central Contract and breaching the board’s Social Media Guidelines.
The decision comes after a formal disciplinary process initiated by the PCB, which issued a show-cause notice to Naseem on March 27, 2026. The notice outlined concerns regarding his conduct and sought an explanation for the alleged violations.
Following Naseem’s written response, a personal hearing was conducted before a three-member disciplinary committee on March 30. After carefully reviewing his submissions, the committee concluded that the young fast bowler had indeed committed breaches of contractual obligations.
Despite acknowledging Naseem’s unconditional apology, the PCB decided to proceed with strict disciplinary action, underlining the importance of professionalism and adherence to contractual terms. As a result, a fine of PKR 2 crore was imposed.
In a significant development, it was also revealed that Naseem has terminated his social media adviser. The PCB further announced that the adviser will be blacklisted and barred from working with any player under its jurisdiction in the future.
The PCB, in its official statement, reiterated its commitment to maintaining high professional standards, enforcing contractual discipline, and preserving the integrity of the game. The board emphasized that all centrally contracted players are expected to uphold these principles both on and off the field.
This incident serves as a reminder of the increasing scrutiny on players’ off-field conduct, particularly in the digital age, where social media activity is closely monitored as part of professional responsibility.
