DUBAI: Pakistani left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has confirmed to Khel Shel that his ILT20 withdrawal from the upcoming auction was intentional and made before the draft. This clears confusion on social media, where it was speculated that Amir had gone unsold. The confirmation comes directly from both his agent and the player himself, as seen in email received by Khel Shel.

A formal email from Amir's agent Taimur Abbas, CEO of Qayna Sports Management, was sent to the ILT20 player auction team two days before the draft. The email reads: "As you may be aware of the recent developments, please treat this email as a notice of withdrawal of Muhammad Amir from the upcoming ILT20 auction."

This email, verified by Khel Shel, serves as the official document confirming the Mohammad Amir ILT20 withdrawal. Taimur Abbas is a registered sports agent with ECB, PCB, and PCA and operates out of the UK.

Amid speculation on social media that Amir went “unsold” in the ILT20 auction, the left-arm pacer clarified directly via a message to Khel Shel that he had voluntarily pulled out of the draft well in advance.

“I didn’t get unsold, I had pulled out from the auction two days before the draft,” Amir said in a private chat with Khel Shel. “Personal choice and internal things were messed up, so I pulled out.”

Mohammad Amir ILT20 withdrawal ends speculation about auction

Amir had previously represented Desert Vipers in the ILT20 league and remained one of the key figures in Pakistan’s T20 circuit. While Amir did not specify the nature of the “internal issues,” this withdrawal adds to the growing uncertainty around his future franchise commitments. It also puts an end to speculation that the pacer was overlooked by ILT20 teams.

This Mohammad Amir ILT20 withdrawal is significant as it clarifies misleading posts and speculation online about his status in the upcoming tournament.

Amir had previously participated in multiple global leagues including the PSL and CPL, and was expected to be among the key Pakistani names in the ILT20 player pool.
