Jorge died at a clinic in Rosario after being under medical care for an undisclosed health condition. Reports from Argentine outlet Infobae confirmed his death on Friday night.

Jorge played a hugely influential role in Lionel Messi’s extraordinary football journey. He supported his son from his early days in Rosario and later became his agent and handled important aspects of his professional and business affairs.

His health had already been a concern during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Messi’s family had previously confirmed that Jorge was receiving medical treatment, while asking for privacy regarding his condition.
