Pakistan hosts first-ever CUPRA FIP Bronze padel event in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan marked a historic milestone in the development of padel as the country successfully hosted its first-ever CUPRA FIP Bronze Event – Pakistan I 2026 at Padelverse, Karachi, from October 2 to 4.


Held under the umbrella of the International Padel Federation (FIP), the international tournament was organised by Padelverse Karachi in collaboration with the Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF).


The three-day event attracted 92 players, featuring 32 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams, with around 46 international players competing alongside Pakistani athletes.

In the men’s category, Spain’s A. Ronco Lopez and Argentina’s J. Lacamoire claimed the title after defeating Spain’s P. Pastor Landaburu and Germany’s A. Reca 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in an exciting final.


The women’s title was won by Spain’s A. Santamaria Landa and Argentina’s G. Sol Perez, who secured a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 victory over A. Ryzhova and N. Sluzhiteleva in the final.

The closing ceremony was attended by Secretary Sports, Government of Sindh, Munawar Ali Mahesar, and Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Azad Khan, as chief guests. Sindh Olympic Association Secretary General Ahmed Ali Rajput attended as Guest of Honour.


The distinguished guests distributed trophies, gifts and cash prizes worth approximately Rs2.8 million among the participating players.

Pakistan Padel Federation President Muhammad Mateen, Jaffar Hashim and Padelverse Co-Founder Safina Danish Elahi were also present at the ceremony.


The successful hosting of the inaugural CUPRA FIP Bronze event is being viewed as a major step in the development of padel in Pakistan, while the participation of a large number of international players has further strengthened the country’s presence on the global padel circuit.


The Pakistan Padel Federation congratulated the champions and runners-up and thanked the FIP, Padelverse Karachi, tournament officials, players, sponsors and partners for contributing to the successful staging of the historic event.

The tournament has also highlighted Pakistan’s growing ability to host international padel competitions and provided further momentum to the sport’s development in the country.
