BARCELONA: Ferran Torres has told Barcelona that he wants to leave the club this summer and join Paris Saint-Germain, according to sources.

The 26-year-old forward has reportedly agreed personal terms with the French champions, with PSG now expected to begin negotiations with Barcelona over a transfer fee.

Torres has just one year remaining on his Barcelona contract, and the Catalan club are understood to be willing to sanction his departure if an acceptable offer arrives from PSG.

A major factor behind Torres’ preference is the opportunity to reunite with Luis Enrique, who previously coached him with the Spanish national team.

Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2021 for around €55 million. Initially deployed primarily as a winger, he has increasingly operated as a central striker under Hansi Flick.

The Spaniard enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign, scoring 21 goals in 49 appearances, after registering 19 goals in 45 games the previous season. Overall, he has scored 65 goals in 207 appearances for Barcelona.

His potential departure could also accelerate Barcelona’s search for a new No.9 following Robert Lewandowski’s move to Chicago Fire. Barcelona reportedly consider Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez their top target, although Atlético’s reluctance to sell could force the club to consider alternatives.

Torres is currently on holiday after playing a role in Spain’s historic World Cup triumph. He featured in all eight matches and became the hero of the final, coming off the bench to score the extra-time winner against Argentina in Spain’s 1-0 victory.

Now, after five seasons at Camp Nou, Torres could be heading toward a new chapter in Paris.
