Pakistani comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi has made a major announcement in support of the national hockey team ahead of the upcoming Hockey World Cup.

Hashmi revealed that he, along with former Pakistan cricketers Ahmed Shehzad, Rashid Latif, and Mohammad Amir, will each donate one month’s salary to the Pakistan hockey team if the players deliver an exceptional performance in the World Cup.

Speaking about the initiative, Hashmi said the gesture is meant to encourage and support the national players, who have often struggled with limited resources and recognition despite representing the country on the international stage.

Pakistan hockey, once a dominant force globally with multiple Olympic and World Cup titles, has faced a difficult period in recent years due to financial challenges and administrative issues. The pledge from prominent public figures and former cricketers is being seen as a morale booster for the players as they prepare for a crucial tournament.

The announcement has quickly gained attention on social media, with fans praising the gesture and calling for more support from celebrities, former athletes, and sponsors to help revive Pakistan’s national sport.
