Owner Kamil Khan reveals name and logo as OZ Developers’ Rs1.85bn bid brings Sialkot back to the league

The Pakistan Super League’s newest franchise officially entered the spotlight on Wednesday as the Sialkot-based team unveiled its name and logo, marking a significant milestone ahead of the league’s expansion season.

Team owner Kamil Khan announced the franchise name — Sialkot Stallionz — through a post on social media platform X, expressing his enthusiasm for joining the PSL fold. “Excited to be part of the Pakistan Super League journey,” Khan wrote, a day after confirming that the franchise name would be revealed at 2pm.

Soon after, the team’s official account followed up with a statement declaring, “The wait is over. A new force rises — Sialkot Stallionz,” formally introducing the franchise to fans across the country.

In a message addressed to supporters, the Stallionz management said the name reflects “legacy and pride,” underlining the city’s rich sporting heritage. “This journey is not ours alone; it belongs to every fan who stands with us, cheers for us, and believes in the spirit of Sialkot,” the statement read.

Earlier this month, OZ Developers secured the Sialkot franchise with a historic Rs1.85 billion bid at the PSL auction, edging out software firm i2c, whose final offer stood at Rs1.82bn. The bidding marked one of the most competitive moments in PSL auction history and highlighted the growing commercial value of the league.

Hyderabad emerged as the second new entrant, with the FKS Group acquiring the franchise for Rs1.75bn, expanding the PSL to eight teams for the first time.

Both Sialkot and Hyderabad will make their debut appearances in the PSL, having not featured since the league’s inception in 2015. The upcoming season is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, promising a fresh dynamic with the inclusion of two new teams.

Sialkot Stallionz will join Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans, as the PSL continues to broaden its footprint and deepen its connection with cricket fans across Pakistan.
