Lahore, January 20, 2026: Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a player, bringing an end to his 10-year journey in the country’s flagship T20 tournament.

Malik made the announcement through a social media post in which he reflected on his time in the league, describing his PSL career as a collection of cherished moments and lifelong friendships formed both on and off the field.

“I cherish every single moment and friendship I have made on and off the field throughout my 10 years of the Pakistan Super League as a player. It’s time to call it a day,” Malik wrote, while adding that his passion to serve the game of cricket would remain intact.

Since the inaugural edition of the PSL, Shoaib Malik has been a prominent figure in the league, representing multiple franchises and playing a vital role with his experience, leadership, and all-round performances. Beyond his contributions with bat and ball, Malik was widely regarded as a mentor for young players, helping guide emerging talent in high-pressure situations.

Over the years, Malik’s professionalism and consistency made him one of the most respected senior players in the tournament, earning admiration from teammates, managements, and fans alike.

Although his playing days in the PSL have come to an end, Malik’s statement hints at a continued involvement in cricket. He is expected to remain connected to the sport in roles related to mentoring, coaching, or cricket development.
