Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has once again sparked debate over Pakistan cricket administration after making candid remarks about opportunities given to former players within the cricket setup.
During a recent interview, Afridi was asked why former cricketers such as Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz and Azhar Mahmood continue to receive opportunities in coaching and administrative roles, while he remains outside the system.
Responding to the question, Afridi said that, in his view, the cricket board prefers individuals who simply say “Yes Sir” to every decision, adding that he is not the type of person who can do that.

The former all-rounder’s comments have quickly gained attention on social media, with fans and analysts debating whether outspoken personalities face greater challenges in securing official roles within Pakistan cricket.
Afridi has previously been critical of decision-making within the country’s cricket structure and has often called for greater accountability and long-term planning. His latest remarks are likely to reignite discussions about transparency, appointments and the role of former players in shaping the future of Pakistan cricket.
