KARACHI — Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan has opened up about his continued struggle to break into the national white-ball setup, expressing disappointment over the lack of opportunities despite consistent performances in domestic and international red-ball cricket.

Speaking during a recent interaction shared online  , Sajid highlighted his achievements, including a standout performance in Bangladesh during the 2021–22 series, where he recorded career-best figures of 8 for 42. He stressed that his performances have not been limited to home conditions, noting that he has delivered results overseas as well.

“I have tried from my side,” Sajid said, adding that selection ultimately depends on team requirements and available spots. “There is strong competition in white-ball formats, and unfortunately, there hasn’t been enough space for me.”

The off-spinner pointed to the depth of talent in Pakistan’s limited-overs squads, mentioning established players occupying key roles. He also revealed that even at the domestic level, including National T20 competitions, he has struggled to secure a place in the playing XI due to team combinations and the presence of senior players.

Sajid’s comments reflect a broader challenge faced by many red-ball specialists in Pakistan cricket, where the rise of franchise leagues and white-ball specialists has made it increasingly difficult for players to transition across formats.

Despite the setbacks, Sajid remains determined to continue performing and pushing for selection, hoping that consistent efforts will eventually earn him a place in Pakistan’s white-ball plans.
