The trophy for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League was officially unveiled on Wednesday at the National Bank Stadium, marking the start of a new chapter for Pakistan’s flagship T20 tournament.
The ceremony in Karachi was attended by Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of the HBL PSL, representatives from all eight franchises, officials from title sponsor Habib Bank Limited, members of the media, and representatives from Hanif Jewellers, the designers of the trophy.
The newly designed trophy has been handcrafted by 18 master artisans from Hanif Jewellers, who spent more than 2,600 hours creating the piece. According to the organisers, the design symbolises the journey and growth of the Pakistan Super League over the past decade.
At the base of the trophy are eight emerald-cut gemstones representing the colours of the league’s eight franchises, highlighting the pride of the cities they represent. The tall structure reflects the discipline, determination, and teamwork required to reach the top of the competition, while the Crescent and Star at the top symbolise unity, hope, and national pride. In total, the trophy is decorated with more than 1,600 gemstones, showcasing the craftsmanship involved in its creation.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, PSL CEO Salman Naseer described the moment as historic for the league.
“This is a historic occasion for the HBL Pakistan Super League as we step into a new era after successfully completing 10 seasons. Over the years, the league has grown stronger with the addition of new teams, record-breaking player auctions, landmark broadcast agreements and ever-increasing support from fans across Pakistan and around the world,” Naseer said.
He also thanked title sponsor Habib Bank Limited for its continued support since the inception of the league and appreciated the franchise owners and Hanif Jewellers for their contributions.
The upcoming season will feature eight teams competing in 44 matches across six venues. The tournament will begin on 26 March, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match.
The PSL’s 11th edition is expected to further expand the league’s footprint as it continues to grow as one of the most prominent T20 competitions in world cricket.
