PSL 11 retention prices announced as franchises lock core squads ahead of historic auction

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially entered a new era, with franchises revealing both retained players and their contract prices ahead of the league’s first-ever player auction on February 11, 2026. Under the revised retention rules, teams are allowed to retain a maximum of four players, one from each category, as PSL expands to eight teams this season



Lahore Qalandars


Defending champions Lahore Qalandars retained a balanced mix of experience and youth spending Rs. 127 million on their 4 retentions with a total purse of Rs. 450 million


  • Shaheen Shah Afridi (Platinum) – PKR 70 million

  • Abdullah Shafique (Diamond) – PKR 22 million

  • Sikandar Raza (Gold) – 28 million

  • Mohammad Naeem (Silver) – 7 million



Quetta Gladiators


Quetta Gladiators leaned toward spin, youth, and emerging talent:


  • Abrar Ahmed (Platinum) – PKR 70 million

  • Usman Tariq (Diamond) – PKR 56 million

  • Hassan Nawaz (Gold) – PKR 39 million

  • Shamyl Hussain (Emerging) – PKR 8.4 million



Peshawar Zalmi


Zalmi invested heavily in their leadership and batting strength:


  • Babar Azam (Platinum) — PKR 70 million

  • Sufyan Moqim (Diamond) — PKR 44.8 million

  • Abdul Samad (Gold) — PKR 28 million

  • Ali Raza (Emerging) — PKR 19.6 million




    Karachi Kings


    Karachi Kings secured a strong core featuring pace, power-hitting, and youth:


    • Hasan Ali (Platinum) — PKR 47.6 million

    • Abbas Afridi (Diamond) — PKR 30.8 million

    • Khushdil Shah (Gold) — PKR 33.6 million

    • Saad Baig (Emerging) — PKR 6 million

       

     

    Islamabad United — Three Retentions Only



    Islamabad United opted to retain three players instead of four, leaving flexibility for auction spending:


    • Shadab Khan (Platinum) – PKR 70 million

    • Salman Irshad (Gold) – PKR 12 million

    • Andries Gous (Silver) – PKR 14 million
