Peshawar Zalmi has issued an official press release defending its recent direct signing of Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, emphasizing that the move was carried out in full compliance with Pakistan Super League (PSL) regulations and with complete approval from both the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).
The franchise reiterated its status as one of the most successful and influential teams in PSL history, crediting its loyal fan base as a key pillar behind its decade-long growth and consistency.

According to Zalmi, Gurbaz’s signing was finalized only after he received full No Objection Certificate (NOC) clearance from both cricket boards. The franchise stressed that at the time of selection, Gurbaz was among the best available players on the official list, and the signing followed the prescribed PSL process without deviation.
The decision was taken purely on professional and cricketing grounds, in strict adherence to PSL regulations, PCB guidelines, and established league frameworks, the statement noted.
Zalmi further clarified that no external factors influenced the signing, underlining that merit, team requirements, and due process were the only considerations.
Beyond the signing, the franchise highlighted its broader mission — promoting Pakistan’s global image, strengthening the PSL brand, nurturing local talent through nationwide scouting programs, attracting international stars during challenging periods, and contributing to communities through impactful CSR initiatives.
Reaffirming its alignment with PCB policies, Peshawar Zalmi pledged to continue working toward elevating the PSL’s international stature and presenting it as a world-class cricket league.
The franchise concluded by thanking its supporters for their continued trust and loyalty, adding that another direct signing will be announced soon.
