The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially confirmed the final prize money distribution for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with champions India national cricket team receiving a record USD 2.63 million from the tournament’s total players’ prize pool of USD 11.25 million.

India clinched the title after defeating the New Zealand national cricket team in the final at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, completing a successful campaign that also brought the biggest financial reward of the tournament. The prize purse is part of the ICC’s increased prize money structure for global events announced in 2024.

According to the ICC, the champions earned a total of USD 2,639,423 — a significant increase compared to the previous edition of the tournament in 2024. Runners-up New Zealand were awarded USD 1,422,692 for their strong run to the final.

The two losing semi-finalists also received substantial payouts. The South Africa national cricket team earned USD 1,005,577, while the England national cricket team took home USD 974,423.

Among the teams that reached the Super 8 stage but failed to advance to the knockouts, the West Indies cricket team received USD 538,269, the Pakistan national cricket team earned USD 522,692, the Zimbabwe national cricket team secured USD 491,538, and the Sri Lanka national cricket team collected USD 475,962.

Meanwhile, teams that reached the Super 8 stage but did not progress further — including the Afghanistan national cricket team, the Australia national cricket team and the United States national cricket team — were each awarded USD 309,808.

Among the remaining participants, the Scotland national cricket team received USD 278,654, while the Ireland national cricket team earned USD 271,731. The Italy national cricket team, the Netherlands national cricket team, the United Arab Emirates national cricket team and the Nepal national cricket team were each awarded USD 256,154.

Teams that exited earlier in the tournament — the Canada national cricket team, the Namibia national cricket team and the Oman national cricket team — received the base participation payment of USD 225,000 each.

The ICC clarified that all figures represent the total gross prize money earned by teams across the group stage, Super 8s, semi-finals and the final. The payouts include the base participation fee, bonuses for match wins and additional rewards for progressing through the different stages of the tournament.

However, the governing body noted that the amounts are calculated before any applicable tax compliance or deductions. It added that the record prize pool reflects the expanded financial rewards for teams participating in the tournament, underlining the ICC’s efforts to increase the financial value of global cricket events.
