Speaking after the team’s qualification, Ammad Butt said the players deserved full credit for their efforts and commitment throughout the tournament.

“Alhamdulillah, we have qualified for the semi-final. It is a very important match for us because it is a knockout game, and we must win it,” he said. “Our aim is not only to reach the final but also to qualify for the World Cup and give a gift to our country.”

The Pakistan captain also expressed gratitude to Mohsin Naqvi and the Government of Pakistan for their support towards the national hockey team, stating that the players were facilitated in the best possible way during the tournament.

“I would like to thank Mohsin Naqvi for supporting Pakistan hockey and also appreciate the Government of Pakistan for listening to the players and providing the necessary facilities,” he added.

Ammad Butt further praised the team management, highlighting the role of chief coach Khawaja Junaid and the rest of the support staff in maintaining a positive environment within the squad.

“The management has been excellent. Khawaja Junaid is our chief coach and Aswai Yaqoob is serving as assistant coach and manager. The team atmosphere is very good, and everyone is working together with the same goal,” he said.

Looking ahead to the semi-final, the Pakistan skipper admitted that the upcoming match would be a tough challenge, with the team set to face the winner of the quarter-final between Japan and Egypt.

“The semi-final is a big task for us. We will face either Japan or Egypt, but our focus is to give our best. The boys have worked very hard to reach this moment and we are just one step away from World Cup qualification,” he said.

Ammad Butt added that the team would focus on securing qualification first before turning attention to preparations for the World Cup and upcoming Pro League fixtures.

“The whole nation is praying for us. This is the team that can win titles for Pakistan, and Inshallah we will try our best to make the country proud,” he concluded.
