The curtain has fallen on the Jazz 5G campaign after an intense six-week run, with team owner Gohar signing off on the season with a heartfelt message of gratitude, reflection, and optimism for the future.
Describing the journey as one that “went by in an absolute flash,” Gohar acknowledged the overwhelming support from fans and the valuable lessons learned during the campaign. While the season did not end with silverware, he emphasized the importance of growth and promised a deeper analysis after a short break.
Fans, however, won’t have to wait too long for more content. Gohar revealed that an in-depth behind-the-scenes documentary will be released this summer, offering a closer look at how the season unfolded and what went on beyond the field.
In his message, he extended special thanks to key figures who played a pivotal role in the franchise’s journey. He credited Salman Naseer for helping him transition from a fan in the stands to a team owner, while also appreciating the leadership of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for driving the league forward.
The coaching staff, led by former Australian cricketer Tim Paine, was praised for their professionalism and ability to build a competitive unit in a short period. Gohar highlighted that the team’s performance exceeded expectations, transforming from playoff hopefuls into serious title contenders at one stage of the tournament.
A standout mention was reserved for veteran pacer Peter Siddle, whose influence both on and off the field left a lasting impact. In recognition, the franchise announced that its “Bowler of the Day” award will be named after him from next season.
Gohar also acknowledged the resilience and fighting spirit of the players, as well as the unwavering support of fans across South Punjab and beyond, calling their loyalty “the ultimate fuel” for future success.
He further expressed gratitude to fellow franchise owners and managers for their guidance, describing the league environment as collaborative despite on-field rivalries. Media professionals were also commended for their dedication in covering the tournament under challenging conditions.
Looking ahead to the final stages of the league, Gohar shared his excitement as a fan, highlighting the return to form of Babar Azam, the competitive spirit of Shadab Khan, and the rising momentum of the Hyderabad Kingsmen.
He concluded by emphasizing that beyond rivalries, all stakeholders share a common mission: to elevate Pakistan cricket and showcase the country’s talent on a global stage.
With optimism in his words and lessons in hand, Gohar’s message signals not an end, but a stepping stone toward a stronger comeback next season.
