In a rare public statement, the Multan Sultans ownership has expressed deep frustration and accuses them over what they describe as “complete silence” from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management regarding the franchise’s valuation and renewal process. The Multan Sultans PSL dispute has now spilled into the public domain after weeks of unanswered communication.
According to the franchise, multiple formal emails, reminders, and even a legal notice have been sent to the PSL administration over the past month. However, no official correspondence or acknowledgment has been received in return. The team claims that all other PSL franchises have already received their valuation and renewal documents except Multan.
Officials from other teams, the Sultans say, are also questioning why only one franchise has been left out of the process.
The franchise further stated that it had attempted to resolve the matter privately, reaching out directly to PSL management and even sending a letter to the PCB Chairman. Yet, they allege that all efforts have been met with complete silence.
Facing continued “ghosting,” the Sultans warn that they may have no option left but to initiate legal proceedings, something they describe as “the absolute last thing we want to do.”
The franchise lamented that the crisis was “completely unnecessary,” adding that it could have easily been resolved “over tea and biscuits” had the PSL management chosen to communicate. Instead, they point to “fragile egos” as the reason a simple administrative process has spiraled into a public dispute.
With tensions rising and no movement from the PSL administration, the future of Multan Sultans’ participation in the league’s next cycle remains clouded in uncertainty. The franchise says it still hopes “better sense prevails” but admits that, as of now, that hope is fading.
