Mohammad Rizwan breaks silence on dressing-room leak probe

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has broken his silence on the ongoing investigation into alleged dressing-room leaks, saying he is fully cooperating with the authorities and will wait for the inquiry to conclude before speaking publicly in detail.

In an interview with a local television channel, Rizwan said he was cooperating with both the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over the allegations.

“I am fully cooperating with the PCB and NCCIA on alleged dressing-room leaks. I am waiting for these investigations to end, then I will probably have a press conference to explain everything.”

The comments mark Rizwan’s first significant public response since he was questioned by the NCCIA in connection with the alleged leaking of information from Pakistan’s dressing room.

Rizwan and fellow Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq have reportedly appeared before the NCCIA as part of the inquiry. Investigators are looking into alleged leaks linked to Pakistan’s recent England tour, while the players have also been asked to provide their responses as the investigation continues.

Rizwan’s decision to wait until the investigation is completed suggests that he does not want to comment on the allegations while the process remains ongoing. The wicketkeeper-batter has indicated that he could hold a press conference after the inquiry, where he would explain his position and address the matter in greater detail.

The NCCIA has yet to announce any final findings, and the allegations against the players have not been established. The investigation therefore remains ongoing, with no conclusion or determination of wrongdoing announced at this stage.

The controversy comes amid a turbulent period for Pakistan cricket following the team’s disappointing England tour and subsequent changes to the Test squad. Rizwan was among the players released from the touring squad after the second Test at Lord’s.

For now, Rizwan appears to be keeping his comments limited until the investigation reaches its conclusion. His promise of a possible press conference, however, could mean that he will eventually provide his version of events once he is free to speak openly about the allegations.
