In a significant trade ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League season, the Multan Sultans have secured the services of Pakistan international all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr from Islamabad United.
The deal sees Multan acquire the dynamic pace-bowling all-rounder, while Islamabad United receive fast bowlers Nisar Ahmad and Salman Mirza in exchange.
Multan Sultans expressed strong excitement about the acquisition, highlighting Wasim Jr’s ability to contribute across all departments of the game. Known for his sharp pace, deadly yorkers, and powerful lower-order hitting, the all-rounder is expected to add balance and firepower to the squad. His athletic fielding and three-dimensional skill set also make him one of the most valuable additions to the team for the new season.
Speaking about the move, Wasim Jr shared his enthusiasm about joining the franchise and contributing to the team’s ambitions. He said he was thrilled to become part of the Multan dressing room and is eager to play alongside some of the biggest names in the tournament while giving his best for the fans.
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans CEO Gohar Shah described Wasim Jr as the perfect example of the franchise’s “total cricket” philosophy. He emphasized that a player capable of bowling around 90 mph, contributing crucial runs in the field, and clearing the ropes with the bat is an invaluable asset to any T20 side.
The trade marks one of the most notable squad changes ahead of the PSL season, with both franchises hoping the move strengthens their squads for the highly competitive tournament.
