Karachi Kings secured a thrilling 14-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in their second match of the Pakistan Super League, holding their nerve in a contest that swung dramatically across both innings.

After being put in to bat, Karachi posted a competitive 181/7, thanks largely to an unbeaten 48 off 29 balls from Moeen Ali. Early impetus came from David Warner (35) and a quick cameo by Salman Agha, but a mid-innings slowdown allowed Quetta to claw their way back, with Ahmed Daniyal leading the bowling effort with 3 for 36.

Chasing 182, Quetta got off to a flying start, powered by a blistering 52 from Shamyl Hussain and a steady 33 from Saud Shakeel. At 75 in the powerplay, Gladiators looked firmly in control.

However, Karachi’s bowlers staged a remarkable comeback. Adam Zampa applied pressure through the middle overs, while Salman Agha removed the dangerous Shamyl at a crucial moment.

The game turned decisively with a brilliant spell from Hasan Ali, who claimed 4 for 27. His variations and control derailed Quetta’s chase, including a match-defining penultimate over that effectively ended their hopes.

With 30 needed off the final over, Mir Hamza closed things out comfortably, restricting Quetta to 167/7.

The victory underlines Karachi Kings’ resilience and balance, bouncing back strongly in their second outing, while Quetta Gladiators will be left to reflect on a chase that slipped away after a dominant start.
