Saqib Khan named Player of the Match in Karachi Blues Quaid-e-Azam Trophy win

Karachi Blues registered a commanding 193-run victory over Abbottabad on the fourth and final day of the seventh round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, while the Faisalabad vs Islamabad clash ended in a draw.


At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad were set a daunting target of 519 runs against Karachi Blues. They resumed their second innings at 147 for four but were eventually bowled out for 325 runs. Ahmed Khan top-scored with 88, while Shahab Khan made 56. Kashif Bhatti starred with the ball, taking six wickets for 98 runs, while Saqib Khan claimed two.

Saqib Khan, who took nine wickets in the match, was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance as Karachi Blues sealed a vital win in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

At Abbottabad Stadium, Islamabad were chasing a target of 449 runs against Faisalabad. Starting the final day at 159 for one, Islamabad finished at 429 for eight when play ended, resulting in a draw. Shamil Hussain scored 131, Haneen Shah made 66, Rohail Nazir contributed 65, Arsalan Sheikh remained unbeaten on 62, and Abdul Faseeh added 57.

Arsalan Sheikh and Haneen Shah built a crucial 111-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Afaq Afridi took three wickets for Faisalabad, while Owais Zafar was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

The Karachi Blues Quaid-e-Azam Trophy win strengthens their position in the points table as the tournament enters its final stages.
