Pakistan fast bowler Zaman Khan has suffered a shoulder injury during a match in the ongoing National T20 Cup, raising concerns about his short-term availability.
The right-arm pacer sustained a dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) in his right shoulder while fielding during the Faisalabad vs Peshawar fixture in Peshawar. The incident occurred as Khan attempted to stop the ball in the field, after which he required medical attention.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, the 23-year-old will report to the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on 14 March for further assessment.
Medical specialists at the academy, in consultation with the PCB’s medical panel, will determine the next steps in his recovery and rehabilitation program. The board has not yet provided a timeline for his return to competitive cricket.
Zaman Khan has become one of Pakistan’s most exciting emerging fast bowlers in recent years, known for his slingy action and lethal yorkers, especially in T20 cricket. Any extended absence could affect his chances of featuring in upcoming domestic and international assignments.
Further updates regarding his recovery are expected after his evaluation at the National Cricket Academy.
