Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has thrown his full support behind Babar Azam, expressing strong confidence in the star batter’s ability to deliver match-winning performances in the ongoing World Cup.
Speaking after Pakistan’s recent outing, Imad said he expects Babar to hit top form as the tournament progresses, despite a rare off-day in the latest match. He emphasized that Pakistan is likely to chase totals around 140 in most games — a scenario perfectly suited to Babar’s composure and consistency.
“I expect Babar Azam to be in top form in this World Cup. Pakistan will mostly be chasing around 140, except in night games with dew. He had a mishap today, but he’s an ideal player to chase 140–150,” Imad Wasim said.
Babar, widely regarded as one of the most technically sound batters in world cricket, has built a reputation for anchoring tricky run chases with calmness under pressure. Imad’s remarks underline the team’s faith in their captain and key run-scorer as Pakistan targets a deep run in the tournament.
With conditions expected to vary — especially in dew-affected night matches — Pakistan’s campaign may hinge on Babar’s ability to control chases and guide the team through high-pressure moments.
