Lahore, March 30, 2026 — Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman has been charged with a Level 3 offence for allegedly tampering with the condition of the ball during a high-intensity Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixture.

According to officials, Fakhar was found to have violated Article 41.3 of the HBL PSL 11 playing conditions, which strictly prohibits any action that alters the state of the ball. The charge falls under Article 2.14 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

The left-handed batter denied the allegations during a disciplinary hearing conducted by match referee Roshan Mahanama. A follow-up hearing has been scheduled within the next 48 hours, after which a final verdict is expected. The incident reportedly took place during the second innings of the match, adding further tension to an already heated contest.

In a separate development from the same game, Karachi Kings pacer Hasan Ali was fined 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the PCB’s Code of Conduct. Hasan admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction without contest.

The violation, categorized under Article 2.5, relates to the use of language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter. The incident occurred on the final delivery of the 19th over of Lahore’s innings, when Hasan dismissed Qalandars’ batter Haseebullah and celebrated in a manner deemed inappropriate by match officials.

The dual disciplinary actions have added a layer of controversy to the ongoing PSL season, with both incidents now under close scrutiny as the tournament progresses.
