BCCI President Rajeev Shukla appreciates ICC for resolving Pakistan-India match issue ahead of T20 World Cup

Delhi | February 10, 2026 — The highly anticipated Pakistan vs India clash in the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup has been officially confirmed for February 15 in Colombo, following successful diplomatic efforts led by the International Cricket Council (ICC).


BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla praised the ICC for initiating and supervising discussions involving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), calling the outcome a major step forward for international cricket.


“I am delighted to see the outcome of the deliberations initiated by ICC representatives,” Shukla said. “It is an amicable solution that puts cricket first and brings the focus back to the importance of the game.”



He credited the ICC Chairman and the delegation that traveled to Lahore to engage with regional boards, noting that the final decision ensures Pakistan’s participation in the scheduled match.


Describing the resolution as a “big achievement for the ICC,” Shukla emphasized that Bangladesh’s concerns were also addressed, with their board expressing satisfaction over the negotiated outcome.


“It’s a win-win situation for everybody,” he added. “Pakistan will play in Colombo on February 15, and this World Cup is now set to become a major success.”


With the blockbuster fixture confirmed, cricket fans worldwide are gearing up for one of the most eagerly awaited encounters of the tournament, as the ICC T20 World Cup builds momentum toward a thrilling and high-profile showdown.
