Dhaka, February 9, 2026 — The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued an official media release expressing deep gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and all stakeholders for their constructive efforts in addressing recent challenges faced by Bangladesh cricket.

In the statement released on Monday, the BCB acknowledged the leadership and support of PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi, highlighting Pakistan’s role in demonstrating sportsmanship, cooperation, and solidarity during a critical period.

The board praised the positive and proactive approach of PCB, calling it an example of unity within the global cricketing community.

BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon (as referenced in the release) said the organization was “deeply moved” by Pakistan’s willingness to go beyond routine commitments in support of Bangladesh cricket. He emphasized the importance of strengthening brotherhood between the two cricketing nations.

“Pakistan’s efforts reflect the true spirit of the game. Long may our brotherhood flourish,” the statement noted.

The BCB further revealed that following recent discussions with Pakistani officials, it has formally requested Pakistan to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup match scheduled for February 15 against India, stressing the importance of the fixture for the overall stability and credibility of the international cricket ecosystem.

The release concluded with the BCB reaffirming its commitment to cooperation, mutual respect, and the long-term development of cricket in the region.
