Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has called on the team’s batting unit to step up and shoulder greater responsibility as they prepare for their upcoming fixture in Pallekele.
Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Farhan acknowledged the bowlers’ consistent performances in recent games but stressed that the batters must now play their part in delivering complete team results.
“Our bowling is doing well, but our batters need to take responsibility. We’re fully focused on tomorrow’s game,” he said.
Pakistan’s bowling attack has shown encouraging form, managing to restrict opponents and provide early breakthroughs. However, inconsistent batting displays have left the side under pressure at crucial moments. Farhan’s remarks reflect a growing awareness within the camp that stronger, more composed performances with the bat are essential moving forward.
The right-hander also admitted that he is unfamiliar with the conditions at Pallekele, as this will be his first appearance at the venue. Despite that, he expressed confidence after receiving positive feedback from senior batter Babar Azam.
“This will be my first game in Pallekele, so I don’t know much about the conditions, but Babar bhai told me that these conditions are suitable for batters,” Farhan added.
The Pallekele surface is often regarded as batting-friendly, offering good pace and bounce early on before assisting spinners later in the innings. If the pitch plays true to reputation, Pakistan’s top order will have an opportunity to set the tone and put up a commanding total.
With expectations high and the team aiming to build momentum, all eyes will be on Pakistan’s batting lineup to respond to Farhan’s call and deliver a complete performance in the crucial encounter.
