Babar Azam denies Pakistan considered not taking field after lunch break

Pakistan batter Babar Azam has denied reports that the team considered refusing to take the field after the lunch break on the opening day of the second Test against England.
Speaking in a television interview following Pakistan’s 194-run defeat at Lord’s, which sealed a series loss for the visitors, Babar was asked whether there had been any discussion within the Pakistan camp about not returning to the field after lunch.
“No, no. I have not heard that thing,” Babar responded.
When the presenter followed up by asking whether he was aware of any conversations taking place regarding the matter, Babar again indicated that he had no knowledge of such discussions.
His comments come amid speculation surrounding events during the first day of the Test. However, Babar’s response appeared to firmly distance himself from claims that Pakistan had contemplated not taking the field.
The defeat at Lord’s proved costly for Pakistan, as England secured a 2-0 series victory, leaving the visitors searching for answers after another disappointing Test performance.
