Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has set his sights high for the ongoing T20 World Cup, declaring that his primary objective is to help Pakistan win matches and finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer.

Speaking during a press interaction in Kandy, Farhan made it clear that while he does not focus heavily on personal statistics and records, he remains determined to make a significant impact with the bat.

“I don’t take stats and records seriously. However, my aim is to score the most in the T20 World Cup and win matches for Pakistan,” he stated.

Farhan’s remarks come amid comparisons with modern greats like Virat Kohli, who holds several major T20 World Cup batting records. While acknowledging the stature of such achievements, the Pakistani opener emphasized that team success remains his foremost priority.

The right-hander has been in confident form leading up to the tournament and is expected to play a key role at the top of the order. With conditions in Sri Lanka generally favoring stroke play, Pakistan will rely on Farhan to provide strong starts and anchor the innings when needed.

As the competition intensifies, Farhan’s ambitious target reflects both self-belief and a desire to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s campaign. Whether chasing big totals or setting challenging scores, the opener appears ready to shoulder responsibility on cricket’s biggest T20 stage.
