The Punjab Police have formally written to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management, highlighting an alleged breach of tournament security protocols involving members of the Lahore Qalandars.
According to reports, the incident centers around Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and all-rounder Sikandar Raza. The two players have been accused of disregarding security directives and escorting four visitors into Raza’s hotel room late on Saturday night.

Security personnel had reportedly denied permission multiple times, citing established PSL safety protocols. However, the players allegedly proceeded despite these restrictions, raising concerns among officials responsible for maintaining the league’s tightly controlled security environment.
The matter has now been escalated to PSL authorities, with the letter urging a review of the incident and appropriate action if necessary. Tournament organizers are yet to issue an official response, but the development is likely to prompt discussions around discipline and adherence to security guidelines within teams.
This incident comes at a time when the PSL continues to emphasize strict security measures to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans, particularly given Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain its reputation as a secure destination for international cricket.
Further updates are expected as the league management reviews the situation.
